The theme for the SATSA 2024 Conference, "This Is Us", reflects on our past, present and collective future in the tourism industry. As mentioned, this year we're breaking away from traditional conference formats to embrace an approach that celebrates storytelling.
Storytelling is deeply woven into the fabric of our diverse cultures. From the ancient African tradition of "Imbawula gatherings" around a fire, to the Afrikaans concept of "oor die kole" - stories have always been a means of passing down knowledge, building relationships, and finding meaning in our shared experiences.
In the spirit of this tradition, the conference will be led by a master narrator who will guide you through a tapestry of tourism tales. This format encourages spontaneous contributions and personal stories, creating a vibrant exchange of ideas and experiences.
